We're pleased to announce our second Legal CPD webinar for 2024 will be presented by Paris Dean, from Victoria Square Chambers.

The CPD topic is 'How to brief a barrister'.

Key topics:

  • The role of a barrister.
  • When may and should a barrister be briefed.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the requirements for preparing and delivering briefs to barristers.
  • What documents should and should not form part of a brief.
  • Practical tips for legal practitioners to foster a successful relationship with barristers.

Paris needs little introduction for legal members in SA. He is a well known and highly respected barrister in civil litigation, with a special interest in employment, industrial, work injury, discrimination, tenancy and administrative law.

Prior to coming to the bar Paris was employed as a legal officer for unions and worked in private practice as a solicitor predominantly practicing in industrial and employment law, workers compensation, discrimination (including sexual harassment), and professsional disciplinary law. Paris now practices at the South Australian Bar from Victoria Square Chambers.

In both 2022 and 2023 he was recognised as recommended counsel in Doyle’s Guide in the categories of “Insurance & Personal Injury - South Australia” and “Employment & WHS Law – South Australia”.
