ASU Local Government Roundtable
This is an opportunity for ASU members working in Local Government to report on the big issues in our workplaces, share stories of our wins, provide an update on bargaining around the sector and help plan the work of the union for the next 12 months.

Time & Location
25 June 2021, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Glen Osmond, 15 Cross Rd, Glen Osmond SA 5064, Australia
About the event
ASU Representatives from councils right across the State will come together for this roundtable, to discuss the big issues facing Local Government workers.
- We will be talking about job security in the sector, and the push from some councils to remove no forced redundancies in Agreements and introduce stand down clauses.
- We will be providing an update on bargaining results - wages, conditions and some new model clauses we have won.
- We will be providing training + resources for members who are about to begin bargaining.
- We will discuss threats to library funding.
- We will talk about sexual harassment, bullying and toxic workplace culture, and what the union can do support and assist you in tackling these difficult issues.
- We will work through a formal ASU position on council amalgamations.
- We will discuss what ASU members want the union to focus on during the up-coming State and Federal elections, and the next 12 months.
