About the event

ASU Representatives from councils right across the State will come together for this roundtable, to discuss the big issues facing Local Government workers.

  • We will be talking about job security in the sector, and the push from some councils to remove no forced redundancies in Agreements and introduce stand down clauses.
  • We will be providing an update on bargaining results - wages, conditions and some new model clauses we have won.
  • We will be providing training + resources for members who are about to begin bargaining.
  • We will discuss threats to library funding.
  • We will talk about sexual harassment, bullying and toxic workplace culture, and what the union can do support and assist you in tackling these difficult issues.
  • We will work through a formal ASU position on council amalgamations.
  • We will discuss what ASU members want the union to focus on during the up-coming State and Federal elections, and the next 12 months.
